Beyond the Spectrum, A Youth Voice Project, are thrilled to invite young carers aged 12-18, especially those with siblings on the Autism Spectrum, to a special day out at Mogo Zoo! This free school holiday event includes zoo entry, an exciting animal encounter, and lunch. Transport to and from the zoo will also be provided.
Spaces are limited, so be sure to register soon to secure your spot. This is a wonderful opportunity to take a break, connect with others, and enjoy a fun-filled day in a supportive environment. Don’t miss out!

Proposed Young Carers Zoo Trip Itinerary
9:00 am – 9:15 am
Departure from St Georges Basin Uniting Church (Firefly Office), 7 Meriton Street, St Georges Basin
Gather at the designated pick-up location. The bus will depart promptly at 9:15 am.
10:45 am – 11:00 am
Arrival at Mogo Zoo
Arrive at Mogo Zoo. Disembark and meet your zoo guide for a brief orientation.
11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Zoo Exploration
Explore the zoo and enjoy self-guided visits to various animal exhibits. Take your time to observe and learn about the different species.
12:00 pm – 12:45 pm
Lunch Break
Enjoy a catered us at the cafe. Time to relax and socialize with fellow participants.
12:45 pm – 1:45 pm (TBC)
Animal Encounter Experience
Participate in an exclusive animal encounter session. Get up close with some of the zoo’s friendly animals and learn more about their care and habitats.
1:45 pm – 2:15 pm
Continued Zoo Exploration
Continue exploring the zoo, visit any exhibits you may have missed, and take part in any scheduled zoo activities.
2:15 pm – 2:30 pm
Preparation for Departure
Gather at the meeting point, review the day’s highlights, and prepare for the return journey.
2:30 pm
Departure from Mogo Zoo
Board the bus for the return journey to St Georges Basin Uniting Church (Firefly Office).
4:00 pm – 4:15 pm
Arrival Back at St Georges Basin Uniting Church (Firefly Office)
Arrive back at the original pick-up location. Parents/guardians will be there to pick up participants.
