Celebrating creativity, community, and the next phase of the poster competition
We’re excited to announce that 12 unique and creative posters have been submitted for the 2025 Spring into Sanctuary Point Fair Poster Competition. This year’s theme, “Bloom Together,” invited young people aged 5 to 18 from across the Bay and Basin area to share their interpretation of what it means to grow, connect, and celebrate community. The results have been nothing short of inspiring.
A heartfelt thank you goes to each young artist who took the time to create and submit a poster. Whether it was a hand-drawn scene full of colour and warmth or a carefully crafted digital design, every entry demonstrated a genuine connection to community and a strong sense of imagination.
The poster competition, now in its third year, remains a key initiative in promoting local pride, encouraging youth creativity, and raising awareness about the Spring into Sanctuary Point Fair, which will take place on Saturday, 18 October 2025, at Francis Ryan Reserve.
What Does “Bloom Together” Mean?
As part of the entry process, we asked each artist to describe what Bloom Together meant to them, and their responses were thoughtful, heartfelt, and often poetic.
One young artist shared:
“Bloom together means growing as not just a person but as a community… whether you’re around someone new or someone you’ve grown comfortable with, the community is always changing and blooming together.”
Another wrote:
“Getting together to enjoy the coming of spring, watching nature bloom and do its thing.”
Others spoke about walking with cameras through the bush, enjoying time with friends, and seeing beauty in diversity. One simple but powerful response described blooming together as:
“Coming together with people from all different places and backgrounds, and seeing the bright and beautiful things in the world — and the people — around you.”
These reflections beautifully capture the spirit of the competition and highlight why community-led events, such as the Sanctuary Point Fair, are so important.
