Collective Overview

In collaboration with local youth, Firefly Bay and Basin is excited to launch the Youth Collective. This initiative is designed to give young people in the Bay and Basin area a platform to share their ideas, provide input, and offer feedback on projects that directly impact their lives. By making youth voices central to community planning and action, we aim to ensure that local projects reflect the needs and aspirations of our young residents.

Workshops and Engagement

To kickstart this initiative, Firefly hosted a workshop with students from Vincentia High School. During this session, students discussed what would make the Youth Collective valuable, the potential challenges they might encounter, and how they want to contribute to their community.

We also held multiple workshops with community stakeholders to assess available resources and identify what is needed to integrate youth perspectives effectively into local projects.

Current Activities

We are currently distributing a survey to teens in the Bay and Basin area to gather insights on how the Youth Collective can best serve them and how they would like to get involved. This data and insights from our workshops will guide the co-design process, allowing young people to help shape the Youth Collective’s focus areas and structure.
