Firefly Bay and Basin, in collaboration with Sanctuary Point Community Pride, is thrilled to announce the return of the Spring into Sanctuary Point Fair Poster Competition! This is your chance to shine, show off your artistic flair, and join our amazing community celebration.
What’s the Competition all about?
The Spring into Sanctuary Point Fair Poster Competition is your golden opportunity to capture the vibrant essence of our community and the spectacular Spring into Sanctuary Point Fair. We’re calling on all young artists aged 5-18 to dive into this creative challenge and celebrate the unique charm of Sanctuary Point and its awesome local groups.
The competition opens on 1 August 2024 and the submission deadline is 5:00 pm on 30 August 2024.
The People’s Choice Award is all about you! This year, we have moved this online, where the wider community will get to vote for their favourite design online. From 1-6 September 2024, all submissions will be showcased in a special Facebook Event where votes will be cast.
Our panel of judges, comprised of Firefly Bay and Basin staff and Sanctuary Point Community Pride members, will review entries based on creativity, adherence to the theme, message clarity, and visual appeal. The winners will be revealed on our Facebook page on 6 September 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
What’s in It for You?
- First Prize: $100 Visa Gift Voucher
- Highly Commended: $50 each for Primary School and High School divisions
- People’s Choice Award: $50
The winners will be announced on 6 September 2024 at 6:00 p.m., and the Prizes will be distributed at the Fair on 19 October 2024 at 9:30 a.m.

Hand-Drawn Posters Accepted!
We’re excited to announce that this year, we’re accepting hand-drawn posters! So, whether you prefer digital design or traditional art, you can participate in the competition. See our Project page for further details.
People’s Choice Award
This year, we’re introducing an online People’s Choice Award. The community will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite designs on our Facebook page from 31 August to 5:00 pm 6 September.
All entries will be showcased in a dedicated album on the Firefly Bay and Basin Facebook page. The design with the most likes/reactions will win the People’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced at 6:00 pm 6 September.
How to Enter:
- Create Your Masterpiece: Design a poster that perfectly captures the spirit of the Spring into Sanctuary Point Fair and showcases the best of our Bay and Basin area.
- Format: Make sure your poster is A3 in size. Use graphic design software or scan your drawing at a high resolution (300 PPI/DPI, 3508 x 4961 pixels).
- Submit: Send your dazzling design to info@fireflybayandbasin.com by 30 August 2024, at 5:00 pm. Don’t forget to include your name, age, contact details, and your parent or guardian’s info.
Remember, we want your designs to be seen! Ensure your poster has clear fonts, high contrast, and visual clarity. Use straightforward, readable fonts and avoid distracting backgrounds.
