Wildlife Rescue South Coast Inc. and Firefly Bay and Basin are excited to announce the launch of the 2024 Wildlife Rescue South Coast Poster Design Competition.

“As a passionate advocate for wildlife protection, I am thrilled to invite young artists aged 5 to 18 to participate in the 2024 Wildlife Rescue South Coast Poster Design Competition,” said Judy Kowalski, Wildlife Rescue South Coast Volunteer. “This competition provides a platform for talented local youth to showcase their creativity while contributing to the vital cause of protecting our native animals.”

“Having worked closely with many talented young artists through our efforts at Firefly Bay and Basin, we see this competition as a fantastic opportunity for budding artists to make a difference and raise awareness about the importance of wildlife protection,” added Christine McInerney-Percy, Community Connector.

The competition will run from Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, to Friday, June 14th, 2024. The poster theme focuses on wildlife protection, particularly during dawn and dusk, when our native animals are most vulnerable to vehicle accidents.

“What’s particularly exciting about this competition is that the winning design will be printed on large boards and displayed throughout the Shoalhaven,” emphasized Judy. “Plus, there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs.”

The winning designer will receive a $100 gift card and an opportunity for Wildlife Rescue South Coast to visit their school to educate about wildlife protection. Highly commended entries in both age categories (5-12 years and 13-18 years) will receive adorable native animal Plushies. Additionally, there’s a People’s Choice Award, allowing the community to vote for their favorite poster design.

To enter the competition, submit your poster designs to info@fireflybayandbasin.com, including your name, age, and contact details (phone and email). Remember, the submission deadline is Friday, June 14th, 2024, at 5:00 pm.
